Baghdad: In Baghdad, the international news agency Reuters, citing sources, has reported that the building of the United States Embassy in Baghdad in Iraq’s capital Baghdad was targeted by a missile. Smoke was seen rising from the building following the attack.
However, Reuters did not provide information about any damage caused by the strike.
According to the news agency Associated Press, the missile attack targeted a helipad located within the embassy compound.
Meanwhile, a senior Iraqi security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Agence France-Presse that the United States Embassy in Baghdad was attacked by a drone on Saturday morning.
An Agence France-Presse journalist also reported seeing black smoke rising from the embassy compound.
The security official said, “A drone attack targeted the embassy.” Another security source also confirmed that a drone strike was carried out against the United States Embassy in Baghdad in Baghdad.
