After another rain delay, the match was further reduced to 42 overs per side.Pakistan managed to score 252 runs in their rain-affected innings of 42 overs. However, under the Duckworth-Lewis method, Sri Lanka had a target of 252 runs for victory.Sri Lanka needed 8 runs off the last over to win the match, but on the fourth ball of the over, Pramod Madushan got run out on Zaman Khan’s throw.Sri Lanka needed 6 runs off the last two balls to win, and Asalanka managed to hit a boundary after taking the ball to the outer edge off the fifth ball of the over.Sri Lanka required 2 runs off the last ball to win, and Asalanka scored the required runs, securing a memorable victory for his team. Charith Asalanka was the hero for Sri Lanka, scoring 49 runs off 47 balls.For Pakistan, Shadab Khan took three wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed two.
