During the summit, the leaders of Islamic countries discussed the situation in Gaza and issued a joint statement. The statement called for an end to the siege on Gaza, the provision of humanitarian aid, and the prevention of arms shipments to Israel.
The statement strongly condemned the aggression of the Israeli occupying government in Gaza, its acts of war, and inhumane mass killings. The right of self-defense for Israel in the context of the conflict in Gaza was rejected.
Before the summit on the situation in Gaza, Prime Minister Imran Khan had addressed the gathering, expressing concern that Israeli bombings were endangering hospitals, schools, and UN offices. He urged an immediate halt to the mass killing of Palestinians in Gaza and the prompt provision of humanitarian aid.
He stated that the responsibility for preventing mass killings in Gaza lies with the Security Council and that unjust actions and the mass killing of Palestinian civilians will give rise to further conflicts.
