Gaza: Following the attacks by Hamas in Palestine, a war is ongoing, and the Gaza Ministry of Health has released details about the number of casualties. It is stated that since the start of Israeli airstrikes, 1,417 people have been killed, including 447 children and 248 women.
Speaking to BBC correspondent Liz Doucet, the Mayor of the Israeli border city of Sderot, Eilan Davidi, said they know what the Western leaders should say to Israel.
Mayor Eilan Davidi, whose city has been a target of Hamas rocket attacks for decades, believes that previous military actions have failed due to the restlessness of Western powers. He said, “When we start an operation in Gaza, within one or two weeks, Britain, America, and leaders of all countries tell our Prime Minister to stop, you need to stop.”
Davidi criticized the Israeli military and government for taking “one or two months” to destroy militant organizations like Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Palestine and remove them from the region.
Liz reports that when they asked whether they were dissatisfied with their government for not ensuring the security of their city, they said they were not doing that. However, they demanded that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu help Sderot get out of such situations.
