Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan has published a report on the initial delimitation of constituencies under the digital population census. According to the Election Commission’s announcement, the publication of the initial delimitation of constituencies will continue from September 27 to October 26, 2023, for a total of 30 days.
The Election Commission has stated that objections related to the initial delimitation of constituencies can be filed by voters in the respective constituency’s name through a memorandum to the Secretary of the Election Commission. According to the announcement, these objections can be submitted at the Election Commission’s office in Islamabad until October 27, 2023. The Election Commission will then make decisions on these objections from October 28 to November 26, after hearing both sides.
The Election Commission has also clarified that objections to the initial delimitation of constituencies in the form of a memorandum must be submitted in the name of the Secretary of the Election Commission and must include the signature of the concerned voter. According to the Election Commission, it will either collect it in person or through its representative in the central secretariat. However, objections sent via courier, mail, or fax will not be acceptable.
