New York: Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, in a press conference in New York, stated that the Election Commission of Pakistan will soon announce the date for elections. He emphasized that Pakistan’s Election Commission has not imposed any restrictions on any political party and will not prevent any political party from participating in the electoral process. Responding to questions about the possibility of Nawaz Sharif’s return to the country and his potential arrest, he stated that whatever legal process is adopted in his case, they will adhere to it. According to Prime Minister Kakar, “No matter who commits a violation against Pakistan, poses a threat to people’s lives and property, or claims their political rights by resorting to arson, Pakistan’s constitution and laws do not grant any political party, including PTI, PPP, or PML-N, any permission.”He emphasized that those who are facing allegations of instigation and violence will have to face our courts. Prime Minister Kakar said that there may be some flaws in the system which they will strive to improve, but the answers lie within the system, not outside of it.He stated that anyone who violates the country’s laws, causes harm to citizens’ lives and property, and then claims that it is a matter of politics will be subject to legal action under the relevant laws. He also stressed that no one is above the law, there are no class distinctions in the laws, and external forces are not responsible; we are a sovereign nation.
