Peshawar: In the Wadi Tira district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a fierce exchange of fire occurred between security forces and militants, resulting in the martyrdom of four soldiers, including a Lieutenant Colonel, while three militants were also killed.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), on the night of November 8, security forces conducted an operation in Wadi Tira based on secret information about the presence of militants. During the operation, there was an intense exchange of fire between security forces and militants, in which 43-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Hassan Hyder, who was leading, embraced martyrdom. Naik Khushdil Khan, Rafiq Khan, and Lance Naik Abdul Qadir also laid down their lives in the exchange of fire with militants.
According to ISPR, in the firing by security forces, three militants were killed, and three others were injured.
As per the Pakistan Army spokesperson, the operation is ongoing in the area to eliminate the remaining militants. An ISPR statement stated that security forces are determined to root out terrorism from Pakistan, and the sacrifices of brave soldiers further strengthen this resolve.
The funeral prayers of the four soldiers, including Lieutenant Colonel, who were martyred in Wadi Tira, were offered at Peshawar Cantonment. After the prayers, the bodies of the martyrs were transported to their respective areas, where their burials will be conducted with full military honors.
