Multan: A powerful explosion in a three-story building containing fireworks equipment resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left five others injured. The blast caused the building to collapse, trapping people under the debris. According to details, the incident occurred last night in a building located in the Delhi Gate Agha Purah area, where fireworks were prepared. The three-story building is owned by a person named Riaz. A sudden, strong explosion occurred among the fireworks materials stored in the building, leading to nine people being trapped under the rubble, with four individuals, including a woman, dying at the scene. Reports suggest that the explosion was caused by a gas leak, which also damaged nearby homes. So far, there are reports of five injured individuals. Upon receiving the information, police and rescue teams arrived at the scene. According to rescue officials, the explosion caused the three-story building to collapse, injuring nine people, four of whom died. Recent reports indicate that rescue teams arrived promptly, recovering the bodies of four individuals and rescuing five injured persons from the rubble. They were immediately transferred to a local hospital, where their conditions are reported to be critical. Additionally, Punjab IG Dr. Usman Anwar has taken serious notice of the incident and has requested a detailed report from the RPO Multan. The IG has ordered the CPO Multan to investigate all aspects of the incident. Residents have reported that the manufacture of fireworks has been ongoing in the area under police supervision for several years.
